When people ask me about advertising, that’s all I have to say.
Our work comes and goes, but the people stick around — it’s a small industry. Be the person you want to be in the trenches with. The one who can have a laugh or share a meme. The one people look forward to seeing in meetings.
And when you’re having fun, it comes through in the work. The beats. The jokes. The emotion is all picked up by the viewer. Nothing good ever came out of torturing yourself day in and day out. Eventually the rhythm comes.
Once you do that, the success comes. Trust me, I’ve been around for 10+ years in this crazy ad world. I’ve done some fun things: made fans foam at the mouth for sauce, brought a aging bodega hot dog to life, went to the metaverse (when that was a thing), made people cry over fries and more.
